Our Cacao Beans (Raw Cocoa) are completely unrefined. From ABOCFA’s Fairtrade Cooperative in Ghana, West Africa. (These beans are certified Organic and Fairtrade from ABOCFA, but we do not carry our own organic certification so we can’t label them as such)
What to do with them? Our favourite way to eat these is to toast them like you would almonds or any other nut.
- Preheat a pan over medium/high heat.
- Add a handful of beans to the dry pan and shake the pan a bit while the beans toast.
- When it starts to smell delicious they are done. Let them cool for a couple moments before popping into your mouth – also try drizzling with things like olive oil, salt, spices (chilli/cinnamon) or even if you’re feeling very adventurous – soy sauce!
